After almost 43 years of Public Service, I finally retired from the City of Rosemount in February of 2022. During those four decades I had served as the City Forester/Park Superintendent/ Contract Manager for the cities of Eagan and New Hope, and for the last 18 years of my career, Rosemount. I can't imagine a career I would have enjoyed more or one I was better suited for than the one I selected. I worked with some really great people and found the work extremely rewarding.
In November, Corinne and I will celebrate our 44th Wedding anniversary. We have been blessed with three great kids and now five wonderful grandchildren. We have lived in West Saint Paul/Mendota Heights for our entire marriage, and are lucky that the kids all live close as well. If we are not all up at our cabin in Aitkin together, they all come over to our house every week for Sunday dinner.
Speaking of my children and grandchildren, I could not be more proud of them.
And through them, am reliving many of my high school experiences. Starting this fall, my daughter, Heidi, is the new Principal of Heritage Middle School here in District 197. This Fall, two of my grandsons will be on the Two Rivers football team, one of them serving as Team Captain. Between football, wrestling, swim team, dance team, soccer, and track, Corinne and I watch a lot of our grandkids activities and spend a lot of time in and around the Henry Sibley/Two Rivers building.
When I'm not playing with or watching my grandchildren I enjoy hiking, camping, gardening, reading, fishing, and golfing. I still get together regularly with Terry Blum, Brian Brogmus, Rob Rebertus, Greg Lissick, and Jim Kilburg from the class of 74.
